About the role:

We are currently seeking an experienced Medical Advisor Biosimilars to join the team based in our Mount Kuring-gai office. In this exciting new role launching a new therapeutic area in Australia & New Zealand, you will provide balanced, non-promotional high-level scientific and technical partnership to internal and external stakeholders for the benefit of patient care. The role is also responsible for ensuring all medical or scientific content is appropriate and fully compliant with internal policies and guidelines as well as Medicines Australia and Generic Biosimilar Medicines Association Code of Conduct.

You will lead and manage key opinion leader relationships across Australia & New Zealand with travel on a regular basis. Within your role, your support is crucial in the planning and execution of advisory boards, symposia, congress, meetings and exhibitions. You will be at the forefront of the product pipeline, consulting on registration and preparing the market before commercial launch. You also love detail and maintain compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, legislation and company Standard Operating Procedures.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Leading and overseeing all medical activities related to Biosimilars and Clinical Nutrition: You will lead project development, execution and medical planning to ensure alignment with corporate business and medical affairs strategy. Develop and maintain in depth knowledge and provide advice for assigned products and relevant therapeutic areas. You will need the ability to establish and maintain professional and credible relationships with key opinion leaders, academic centres and different stakeholders. Preparing and delivering scientific presentations and medical education programs to healthcare professionals and provide medical partnerships. You will also coordinate the medical and scientific input into marketing strategy and key commercial initiatives, monitoring the environment for competitive intelligence.

  • Medical Planning: Prepare strategic medical plans and implement an operational annual medical plan, including medical expenditure budget and medical education. Maintain knowledge of the scientific and clinical background for the Biosimilars & Clinical Nutrition portfolios and their therapeutic areas and translate this knowledge into the right medical strategies and support activities. Maintain excellent and relevant market insight and collaborate with the sales force on all issues related to the allocated product group. Assist in sales representative training, building and maintaining internal and external relationships with all stakeholders.

  • Organisational Liaison: We want someone who can facilitate collaboration and open and honest communication with colleagues. Develop professional relationships with other organisations such as patient advocacy groups, industry associations and government representatives and liaise with regional and global medical teams to ensure local activities are in line with regional and global activities.

  • Knowledge and Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant Fresenius Kabi products, the market environment, prescribing practices and competitors’ offerings. Planning and attending relevant industry conferences to expand existing market knowledge and further build relationships to key opinion leaders and customers & someone that has a strong knowledge of Pharmacovigilance requirements in Australia & New Zealand.

What we are looking for:

  • MD or PharmD preferable or other scientific tertiary level qualification, PhD
  • 3-5 years in Medical Affairs/Advisor or Senior Medical Science Liaison role
  • Launch experience in the biologic space is highly desirable
  • Biologics and Hospital Knowledge
  • Knowledge and experience in Clinical Nutrition space is highly desirable
  • Experience and relationships in the Autoimmune disease area, Rheumatology or Gastroenterology is preferable
  • Excellent presentation skills and proven external stakeholder relationship management
  • Medicines Australia Continuing Education Program (Code of Conduct) is essential
  • Adaptable, independent and proactive working style with excellent attention to detail
  • Current Driver’s Licence is required
